Dear Prospective Candidate,

Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrenceburg, IN is a small, inclusive, and welcoming faith community. After being blessed to have the same Vicar, The Reverend Mary Taflinger, for the last 25 years, we now seek a new priest. Mary is quite beloved at Trinity but we understand that change is a natural and inevitable part of life. We are excited to move forward with a new Vicar. We are looking for someone who is compassionate and professional, who is willing to promote Trinity Episcopal Church to the public, and who will lead us in strengthening our church, our faith, and our knowledge of Jesus Christ. Trinity currently has approximately 50 members. We have strong and committed leaders who, in the absence of a vicar, are implementing the “Godly Play” Sunday School curriculum, fostering adult education through Bible Study, and offering Morning Prayer on Sundays when we do not have a guest priest. This position will be 30 hours per week/four Sundays per month. We hope that it will evolve into a full-time position.  Trinity would not restrict the Vicar from seeking supplemental employment.

Trinity is resilient! We are the only Episcopal church in Southeastern Indiana and have served this area since 1840. Trinity is nestled in a quiet neighborhood about thirty minutes from downtown Cincinnati, OH.  Lawrenceburg is a lovely and historic town on the banks of the Ohio River. The city offers all the charm of Midwestern small-town life, such as parades, festivals, and local farmer’s markets.

Residents of Southeast Indiana have access to a wide variety of professional, educational, and entertainment options: theater and music venues; collegiate and pro sports teams; excellent hospitals and medical facilities; as well as a wealth of educational opportunities at local universities, including Hebrew Union College. Lawrenceburg is 20 minutes from the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky airport.

We welcome your application and the opportunity to enter a process of mutual discernment. Please send a resume and cover letter to:
